April 8, 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Supervisor for District 2.

There are four candidates running to replace David Rabbitt who is retiring.

District 2 includes the cities of Petaluma and Cotati and a portion of Rohnert Park, as well as the unincorporated communities of Penngrove, Two Rock, Bloomfield, and a portion of the unincorporated community south of Sebastopol. If you live in one of these areas, this something you do not want to miss. The candidates running are John King, Sylvia Lemus, Shelina Moreda & Joanna Paun.

The 4th Supervisorial District includes areas of northern Santa Rosa, northeast Fulton, the Larkfield-Wikiup-Mark West area, northeast Fulton, the Town of Windsor, the City of Healdsburg, the community of Geyserville, and the City of Cloverdale. There are three candidates running. candidates? They are Melanie Bagby, Todd Lands & Tom Schwedhelm

Oppose the SAVE Act Suite of Bills

Congress continues to introduce bills that would require voters to present documentary proof of citizenship (DPOC) to register and/or vote, including the SAVE America Act, the Safeguard Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE Act), and the Make Elections Great Again Act (MEGA).

The SAVE Act would create one more barrier to the voting process, as many eligible voters do not have easy access to the necessary documents. Tell Congress to reject anti-voter policies

Calling on Congress to Investigate ICE’s Use of Force

The League of Women Voters of California urges Congress to immediately investigate ICE’s use of force, deployment tactics, and potential violations of civil and constitutional rights. Oversight is not optional—it is a fundamental responsibility.

We encourage all members and supporters to contact their members of Congress and demand:

A full and transparent congressional investigation into ICE’s conduct;
Accountability for any violations of civil rights or misuse of federal authority; and
Immediate steps to ensure federal agencies respect constitutional protections and democratic norms.

The League of Women Voters has joined with leading civil rights organizations, including LULAC and Common Cause, in calling on Congress to act decisively. You can read more about that call to action.

We also reiterate and encourage you to review the League of Women Voters’ 2025 statement condemning the use of federal force against peaceful protestors.
