Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee's primary goal is to support the Sonoma County League of Women
Voters by registering, educating and inspiring voters to get involved in the electoral process.
Currently this is mainly done through tabling at community events.

Sonoma County has a high percentage of registered votes (and those tend to go to the polls), but there are still many communities who do not participate in the electoral process. Our goal is to reach out to the entire county to get everyone registered and then give them the information they need to be ready to vote and get involved in their community.

We take suggestions from the public and community organizations on venues, community events or other formats where the League can set up a table and give out information about voting, elections and other pertinent information. Send your recommendations to: president@lwvsonoma.org.

What’s involved? Tabling shifts are flexible and run year-round. All are welcome to participate. No prior experience is necessary. We’ll give you the do’s and don’ts before you go. There is also a how-to guide included with the tabling materials. New participants are always paired with an experienced “tabler” who will know how to answer the questions we usually receive and explain what the league all about and involved in. We’ll ask you to keep track of what is distributed and how many people you register.

This is an easy, fun way to dip your toe in civics action. Meet new people and make a difference at the same time.
