How an Idea Becomes a Law
(Even if you aren't from California,

wonderful info and inspiration for you.)
This is a reminder that you have registered to join us for a civics class this coming Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 6pm (PST). Your Zoom Login should have been emailed to you when you registered. It will be sent to you again on February 19th and also an hour before the event starts. Your Zoom login is not in this email.
Why should you take this class? Laws reveal the values and ideals of a society, as well as the standards for how people treat one other. Mr. Pitts will show us many online resources we can use to easily track the progress of bills, find out who sponsored the bills, see how our representatives voted on bills, etc. We elect our representatives because we want them to make bills and vote for bills that protect our interests. By the end of the class, you will be able to quickly and easily follow what your representatives are doing.
Logan Pitts is a Senior Field Representative and Senior Legislative Aide for California State Senator Bill Dodd. He knows the entire process -- the good, the bad, the failures, the successes - for how ideas becomes laws. He is an alumnus of Sonoma State University. Mr. Pitts has a talent for distilling complex problems into easily understandable concepts.
