City & County Government:
Where Democracy Begins!

This is a reminder that you have registered for a civics class, Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 6pm (PST).  Your Zoom Login should have been emailed to you when you registered.  It will be sent to you again today and also tomorrow an hour before the event starts.  (The Zoom notice/login glitch that some of you experienced for the last class has -- hopefully! -- been fixed.)  Your Zoom login is not in this email.

Why should you take this class?  Because democracy starts at the city and county level -- with us!  Most of us are more aware of what goes on in the Federal Government than we are of what goes on in our own city.  Time for that to change!   Our local government is where we can most easily influence change and make a difference.  If we don't know what's going on or how our government works, then we forfeit our political power to other people.  Come learn how it all happens!

Presenter: Steve Rabinowitsh, Professor Emeritus Santa Rosa Junior College.  He is one of the most beloved and popular professors in the North Bay.  He has been an instructor of political science at Santa Rosa Junior College for over twenty-five years.  He served on the Santa Rosa City Council from 1998 to 2006 and has been active on many local committees and advisory boards.  In 2023, he was given a merit award from the City of Santa Rosa as a "Community Hero."

Those who already know a lot about government will still learn something interesting and new.  Even if you don't live in California, you will still get some new ideas and inspiration.

You are already registered, however, if you know someone who would like to attend who has not yet signed up, they can register here:  REGISTER   (Free, but registration is required.)

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday!
